Come explore the colorful and slightly unpredictable world of watercolor batik! In this workshop, we’ll use layers of watercolor and wax resist to create rich colors, interesting textures, and that wonderfully imperfect batik look.
You’ll be guided through the process from start to finish, so no watercolor or batik experience is needed. This is a fun technique that encourages you to loosen up, experiment, and enjoy seeing how each layer changes your artwork.

Watercolor Workshop – Adirondack Chairs
Join us for a relaxing afternoon of watercolor painting! We’ll start with a simple line drawing of two Adirondack chairs overlooking the water and transform it into a beautiful watercolor painting.
This workshop is designed to be approachable and fun, even if you’re new to watercolor. We’ll work with color, layering, and simple watercolor techniques while giving you plenty of freedom to make the painting your own. No drawing skills needed—the design will be ready for you to paint!

Junk/Art Journal Palooza — Our Final Class at Inky Blues
Join us for one last creative day at Inky Blues!
On Friday, October 10th from 12–8pm, we’re filling the studio with paper, paint, scraps, ephemera, conversation, and creativity for a Junk/Art Journal Palooza.
Spend the day working in your journal, experimenting with materials, sharing ideas, and getting inspired by the other creative people around you. We’ll have a wide variety of supplies available to dig through and use. Come for the whole day or stay as long as you’d like.
This will be our final class at Inky Blues Community Art Center, and I can’t think of a better way to finish our time here than with a studio full of people making things together. Whether you’ve taken lots of classes with us or have always wanted to give junk journaling a try, you’re welcome.

Studio Use Agreement
Inky Blues Community Art Center provides a space which brings together all people who are interested in the arts. These arts include but are not limited to painting, drawing, ceramics, screen printing, paper making, etc.
This Inky Blues Community Art Center agreement, when signed by the applicant and accepted by Inky Blues Community Art Center, constitutes a binding contract between Inky Blues Community Art Center and the studio participant signing the signature page of this agreement. Rights, privileges, and obligations commence when the agreement is signed by both parties. Participants agree to pay the open studio fees and any other art materials they wish to purchase. Various art supplies will be available to the participants. These include but are not limited to watercolors, pens, pencils, charcoals, pastels, acrylics, oils, etc. There is also lighting equipment for filming project progress for social platforms.
STUDIO SPACE, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT
Inky Blues Community Art Center staff will be present to assist with basic instruction while you are at the studio. Artists, ages 12 and up, may attend open studio any time Inky Blues Community Art Center is open for business and there is space in the studio. Open space is subject to availability; studios are first come, first served.
As a studio participant, you agree to handle equipment with care and leave the studio in the state you found it when you arrived. This agreement entitles you to the use of all equipment in our studio, excluding office and other inadmissible areas. Limited storage space may be provided for works in progress. Inky Blues Community Art Center is not responsible for any damages to your artwork. You will be held responsible for damage to facility or equipment if obvious negligence or improper use is the cause. You are expected to be mindful of other artists sharing the space by using no more space than your project requires, returning all materials and equipment at the end of use and cleaning the workspace after use. Delaying closure time due to late clean up may result in a fee of up to $25 per hour.
Should you choose to bring in your own supplies, equipment or personal belongings, Inky Blues Community Art Center is not liable for these supplies or equipment. All artists are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Inky Blues Community Art Center reserves the right to take corrective action when an art creation or participant actions are disruptive to the studio.
PARTICIPANT DUES
Payments are due at the time of purchase.
WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
This agreement shall continue in effect until such time as the participant contract is terminated by Inky Blues Community Art Center. The studio user agrees to not hold Inky Blues Community Art Center liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss of insurance. I agree to release and hold harmless all Inky Blues Community Art Center staff from all liability incurred as a result of my participation in the studio, either in workshops or open studio times. These terms serve as a release for me, volunteers, property owners and members of my family.
